Basic Glassware
Round Flasks
The round bottom of the flask provides a suitable surface area for the uniform distribution of heat around the container. Therefore, it is usually used in experiments that require uniform heating or boiling of chemical components.
Volumetric Flasks
Volumetric flasks are used to prepare solutions. Each has a narrow neck with a mark, which is usually used for a single precise volume. Volumetric flasks are not suitable for heating because temperature changes can cause expansion or contraction of materials, including glass. These flasks can be plugged or sealed so that evaporation does not change the concentration of the stored solution.
Beaker
Beaker is the main glassware in any chemical laboratory. We offer beakers in many sizes, ranging from 5 ml to 10000 ml. Beakers are not particularly accurate, and some are not even marked with volume measurements. The accuracy of a typical beaker is about 10%.
Erlenmeyer Flasks
One of the most common types in chemical laboratories is conical bottles. This type of flask has a narrow neck and a flat bottom. It is suitable for rotating, storing and heating liquids. If you need to seal the container, it is much easier to place a stopper in the conical flask or cover it with sealing film than to cover the beaker.
Conical bottles come in many sizes. Like beakers, these flasks may or may not mark the capacity. Their accuracy is about 10%.
